Biography

Donna Anderson is from Western Massachusetts. As a Nurse Practitioner, she believes in the importance of recognizing that each patient has individualized needs, utilizing these to provide the highest level of evidence-based care and treatment. Donna's career path started in veterinary medicine, but she quickly realized that attending to humans was just as important, offering her the opportunity for more diversity while still fulfilling her passion for providing support and care.

Donna received her Associate of Science in Nursing from Holyoke Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, MA. With a broad range of experience in preventative health, emergency services, occupational health, and college health, she has worked in urgent care, at Holyoke Medical Center in the behavioral health department, and spent 12 years at Holyoke Community College before joining the Westfield State family.

Donna believes that healthcare providers must address not just the physical, but also the mental and emotional aspects of their patients’ wellness. She strives to demonstrate this holistic approach through her actions every day.

Outside of her professional life, Donna enjoys yoga, horseback riding, kayaking, skiing, gardening, and cooking.
